Timorasso is an ancient Piedmontese grape variety that was on the verge of extinction in the 1980s. It was carefully revived by Walter Massa of Vigneti Massa and now enjoys a resurgence in dry white wine displaying similarities to a really good, unoaked Chardonnay - richly textured with a buttery note and stone fruit on the palate. The Oltretorrente Timorasso is straw-yellow in colour and has a delicate and elegant bouquet. The palate is full and rich, but at the same time savoury and typically mineral. Crispness makes it lively, drinkable and very long.[#intro]On the verge of extinction, Timorasso is now one of Italy's most exciting wines...[/intro]
