Domaine Jean Collet & Fils Chablis Premier Cru Montﾨﾦe de Tonnerre is 100% Chardonnay sourced from one of the finest of Chablis Premier Cru vineyards. The Montﾨﾦe de Tonnerre 1er Cru vineyard is located on the right bank of the Serein next to the Grands Crus and its aspect allows the vines to bask in ample sunshine, contributing to the optimal ripening of the grapes. The hallmark of Chablis is the unique Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils, very rich in marine fossils and in particular in Exogyra Virgula, a small oyster typical of the region. This combination of terroir, sunlight exposure and soil composition creates wines with exceptional finesse, complexity and sense of place. Domaine Jean Collet's two hectares of Montﾨﾦe de Tonnerre is now 40 years old and is managed organically. The wine is vinified in barrel. On the nose the Chablis Montﾨﾦe de Tonnerre displays enticing aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers and hints of ripe stone with sweet woody notes of Burgundy oak. The palate is beautifully balanced between the vibrant acidity and rich fruit flavours, culminating in a crisp, refreshing and lengthy finish.
