

The Alpha Estate Axia Red is a blend of Xinomavro (50%) and Syrah (50%). Aged on its lees for seven months with regular stirring, before being matured for 12 months in 100% Allier oak casks, of medium to light toast. The wine was then aged for a further 12 months in bottle. A complex bouquet of ripe blackberry combined with exotic spice, vanilla, clove and cracked pepper. Full bodied on the palate, with rounded tannins, a balancing freshness, this blend delivers rich, dark fruits and intense quince flavours, with vanilla tones from the seamlessly integrated oak through to a long persistent finish.
