Abﾨﾦlard was the theologian and philosopher whose passionate illicit romance with his brilliant disciple Hﾨﾦlo?se condemned both to forced separation and tragedy. Their love survived decades of monastic seclusion through passionate and erudite correspondence. Abﾨﾦlard and Hﾨﾦlo?se?are not the classic ﾡﾰfirst wine/second wineﾡﾱ. Made with the same attention to detail, they are equal in quality, but very different in style, to reflect the distinct characteristics of the varieties and vineyards. Chﾨﾺne Bleu Abﾨﾦlard is a Grenache-Syrah blend from mature vines, barrel-aged for 18 months. It is a deep, brilliant crimson in colour with intense aromas of black cherry, prune, liquorice and notes of fine spices. The palate is full and fresh with silky tannins notes of cocoa, mocha and black fruits with a long, persistent finish. Elegant yet powerful, Abﾨﾦlard has the capacity to age well for many years.
