Chateau Mayne-Graves Bordeaux Supᄄᆭrieur is a great introduction to the wines of Bordeaux. The property is owned by the Guimberteau family, who are also the owners of the excellent Chateau La Courolle Montagne-Saint-ᄄᆭmilion. The family have been been running vineyards on Bordeauxᄀᆵs Right Bank for over a century but they only planted Chateau Mayne-Graves in 2002, intrigued by the particularly gravelly terroir. The vineyard is just 4 hectares in size and is located next to Montagne-Saint ᄄᆭmilion, so is unsurprisingly receptive to and successful with the Merlot vine.? This is a?blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes that offers plump plum fruit, with nice leafy tannins and firm structure. [#intro]Soft tannins, plum and blackcurrant jam flavours, hint of cinnamon on the finish...[/intro]
